Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

my 06 'dale

Finally finished building her up. Dura Ace running gear with an FSA compact cranks and BB. Time Impact Mag pedals. Thomson X2 stem and Salsa Short and Shallow bars (42), Fizik bar tape (silver for when its not winter in New England). FSA SL-220 seapost (soon to be accetoned-down), Fizik Poggio saddle. Profile Design bottle cages (we'll see how long they last but for $2 I'm not too concerned). Beast wheels (MA3/105 hubs), and a PowerTap.

Sweet bike. Does anyone else notice how the big bike manufacturers are going crazy with their names on the bikes. I mean....dam, I know it is a cannondale, you know it is a cannondale....do we really need our new bikes plastered with their logos?

What do you mean by acetoned down? Just curious.

I'm going to use acetone (or some sort of paint remover) on the large FSA logo on the seatpost.

A very sexy beast....great job on the build! Perhaps consider a matching Thomson seatpost for that fine X2 stem. Again, congrats on the new ride.

Very reflective - if you put on silver bar tape and a silver seatpost it might blind people...

54cm...dunno the weight, though with the current wheels being stupid heavy I can't imagine anything too great, plus the stem/bar/post all aren't exactly lightweight stuff. I'll weigh after I figure out my race wheels.

Hope the acetone or whatever solvent you use doesn't cloud the finish on the seatpost. Dunno if it'll happen, but that's why I'm afraid to do this.

Very sweet bike-all ally bikes should show their true colors.
The seat looks a little awkward, a white seat and white bar tape would fly this out of the park.
