Directions from redwood to Fremont CA

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Directions from redwood to Fremont CA

So I will be visiting a bunch of bike shops tomorrow, on my bike. Any good way to get from Redwood to Fremont, without going around the bay? I think there is a bike access on 84 bridge, but I'm not sure how to get to it.

Thanks.

it will rain tomororw, and very windy on 84. There is in fact a bike trail along hwy 84.
There are many bike shops along El Camino, from mountain view all the way up to
san mateo.

i have ridden 84 (bridge section) over the bay to fremont in perfect sunny weather - it was uber windy then. i would think with the rain showers expected tomorrow, riding is not recommended.

There is a 2-way bike path along the south side of the Dumbarton (Hwy 84) bridge. Access the bike path from the frontage road on the south side of the highway.

Alternatively, you can ride your bike up to Milbrae and then take BART over to Fremont.
