Fizik Arione Carbon Braid

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those look great on Tuscany's. Mine however numbed me and have since changed it out. Carbon seatpost will look great or Titanium seatpost like Blandin has on his TST.

Actually, every saddle is the worst ever for some people and the best ever for others. You will never see a review that is 100% positive. My opinion is the Arione is a damn fine saddle.

very nice.

i dont know why but for some reason packaging makes a big difference to me. when i recieved my aliante i liked the box almost as much as the seat. in fact i kept it, my old seat is stored in it.

I had thought about a Ti seat post, and I think it would have been cool too, however I was woo'ed with a Ti/Carbon Theme, Post & Stem.

ViperZ, the photos are really nice, if the saddle is half that good - it will be great!

Thanks for the photos. I was wondering if you'd weighed it yet...
good to see the real world weight under 180 grams.

Blandin, it sure would be dull

Thanks on the photos gang!

It's amazing how stiff the saddle is for it's weight, yet the padding still seems pretty plush as well.

ViperZ, I'm going to give my SLR its first trial run today. Given that I own a bunch of regular Arione's, I'll soon see if I made a good choice or if I should have gone your way.

You type that as if it's a bad thing.....

Not for you, that's cool, live and let live, show some decency though, no need to crap in my thread.

Blandin, it will be good to hear what you think, as I typically like more traditional saddles like my Flite Ti. Of the newer generation saddles, the Arione Carbon Braid appealed to me the most, with out trying one out.

I ride the Arione Aliante TI Black on my winter ride and the Arione Carbon Tubular Ti is being placed on my new build. It is the only saddle for my arse.

Gorgeous saddle. Is there a (rider) weight limit on that thing?

Also, what is the silver part - silver-colored carbon? It appears to be a weave.

Agreed, Apple must have an entire design team devoted to just Package Design.

Thanks, no idea on the weight limit, it's not stated and the only warnings is ensuring the seat post grooves are burr free. I'll let you know in a few if my 195-200lb frame crushes it

I believe that silver part to be another composite material (White Carbon). It appears to be molded to the black carbon as one.

I too am interested in the rider weight limit. I did not see anything listed on their website.

Also, can you feel the carbon piece on top? What is it there for? Entirely looks?

That is one fine looking piece of carbon equipment... love it!
