Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Portland Roadies - need some help!

OK guys. I'm officially coming out the end of April for a few days. Problem is, not one shop out there has or will rent me a road bike that will fit me. I ride a 63cm (c-t) Bianchi. Closest I would be able to get would be a 59cm as a rental. Too small, no doubt.

Anyone know anybody out there that has an "extra" 61-63cm road bike that they wouldn't mind renting out for some cash? I don't want to keep the bike with me, but maybe meet up with someone somewhere and ride with them.

I know - it's a long shot. But short of buying a new bike (which I cannot do), and shipping my bike out there (not real crazy about that), I don't know what else to do.

Thanks!
Andy

Thanks Jakey. I just called 'em, they have one or two bikes 60-61cm, old school stuff, for 15 bucks per day. Might be my only option if I want to ride while I'm there.

Now I gotta find a ride to Salem..!

Yeah their rentals are older... Have you tried River City in portland? There has to be a shop in portland with a 61cm...
