Forte Gemini wheels from Performance Bikes

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Forte Gemini wheels from Performance Bikes

Does anyone have experience with these wheels? I'm looking for a rear wheel with paired spokes for not too much money. No racing, just recreational riding for a 165lb guy.

Do you have to have paired spokes? The Performance Forte Titan wheels are supposed to be rebadged Neuvations (formerly Supergo Korso wheels) with bladed spokes, are supposed to be pretty durable, and are a decent value for the money. Currently they're only $20 more than the Geminis for the set.

Yes, I searched. There was one post dated over a year ago and no one really responded.

Well, it's not a necessity, but a nicety. I'm actually shopping for a friend who is trying to match a rear wheel to his Race Lite front wheel. He is a casual rider and doesn't want to spend big bucks.

How about a simple Mavic Open Pro w/ Ultegra rear hub? A bit heavy, but fine for casual riding. $100 for a bulletproof wheel.

I am #250 and have 1200 miles on a set and have had no problems at all. Just a little 1/4 turn of the spoke wrench here and there.
