WOW - Specialized Carbon Comp Shoe Warranty

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

WOW - Specialized Carbon Comp Shoe Warranty

So, some of you guys might remember this thread where I stripped a screw hole on my Carbon Comps. I've been really happy with this shoe. A couple knee problems I was having went away when I started using them, and they're one of the few shoes I had little/no toe numbness issues with, ect... Just great shoes for me so I was devastated.

Well, I finally got around to messing with the issue some more and discovered the screw holes are removeable from the shoe. Sweet. So I take it and the shoes over to the local Specialized dealer, Bicycle Sportshop here in Austin. I wanted to see if I can order/buy a replacement part. I show it to them (Jen initially. She reads this board, btw. Thanks again Jen!) and they ask "how long have you had these?". I told them 7 or 8 months maybe. They said, "no problem, we'll get you a new set of shoes and warranty these......" What! Before I can pick my jaw up off the counter they go to the back and pull a brand new set of 45's in black off the shelf and hand them to me! I told them I stripped the screw hole and they really don't have to do this. They said - no, its not a problem. Don't worry about it. Holy crap! I thank them profusely and take my new shoes and go home.

We hear about all the bad stuff companies do in a hurry, I thought it was only fair to share this. I was blown away.

On a side note, I have a nearly new pair of Louis Garnaeu Carbon's in size 45 (only 3 or 4 rides in 'em) that I'm selling cheap now!

If there is one thing I have learned in talking to my friend at the LBS is that Specialized is GREAT with all of that sort of thing. Add to that I have heard from my friend in Austin that the Bicycle Sport Shop is also great with this sort of thing...put those two together and I can't imagine an unsatisfied customer...unless they are just totally unreasonable.
