Show your Specialized!

I searched the forum and couldn't find a thread specifically for Specailized bikes. Well, here it is.

I just got the camera back in a usable form so I thought I would share my passion. I know it's not a top end bike but I don't need a $5000 bike to crank it up to 400w.(by 400w I mean 400w divided by 2) :D

I'm such a dork that I stopped using a saddle bag cause I felt it made my bike look like a dork ala those dorky fanny packs .

Its not the best picture by any means. I really love this bike, I wish I had more time to get out and ride it!
New Gossimer cranks, Slasa stem, FSA Wing bars, Campy cables,Specialized Avatar saddle, and Deda tape. Still gotta get rid of the celeste pedals here soon, any willing trades for some black LOOKS out there??? ;)

Purchased a Roubaix Comp Triple two weeks ago (no pic's yet). I've got 45 miles on it so far, but I've had three flats, 1 front and 2 rear. Is this just bad luck or is there something about the Speicalized All Condition tires that I don't know?

Thanks in advance!

What sort of flat are you getting? Do you know if they are coming through the tire or if they are caused by the rim? Comp triple has the Alex wheels I believe and I would guess they have a rubber rim strip...if that is the case get some Velox or the Specialized rim strips or similar.

This is a S-Works frame I bought off of ebay that was brand new still in the box with uncut fork tube about a month ago. Beleive it or not this is the 3rd Festina S-works bike I've owned. I bought a new 56cm frame that I loved but was a little to big and then found a 54 that wasn't in the greatest shape but rode it quite a bit before selling it. The bike in the photo I've had together about 3 weeks and feels great. Can't wait for the snow and ice to disappear.

Grasshopper: The flats are coming thru the tires. All three of the punctures were through the bottom, slightly to the side of the All Condition tires.

My Roubaix Comp Triple came with Shimano wheels, even though I was expecting Alex wheels (per the Specialized web site). I'm not a racer, most of my riding is century's and such, but I'm wondering if I should change out the standard tires to something more flat resistant. I would rather go a little slower and not be too conerned about flats.

Also, I would like to thank you for all the posts you've made over the last few months concerning the Roubaix. Your insights were very helpful when I was making the descission as to which bike to purchase.

Hey no problem...I love these bikes but I must admit I didn't put a single foot of distance on those tires so I have no clue as to their durability. Specialized makes some good tires but those are not high end tires...I gave mine to my father for his back up bike which had worn out tires...but maybe I gave him a curse? Anyway I would suggest you look at the Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick...I ran those for alomst a full year and never got a single flat...plus they feel great on the road and perform great too.

Grasschopper, sorry! I can't read and can't spell, other than that my grammer is about 30% correct.

Here's mine. This bike is actually now completely assembled. Guess I'd better take some newer pics...

My Tarmac, as it stood a week ago:

http://myweb.uiowa.edu/williamskb/im...armac_side.jpg

My Specialized S-works SL handlebar finally showed up and the Zero G brakes showed up last night. I installed them, but ran into a snag. My rear brake housing isn't long enough (errr). I of course didn't have any cables at the house... and couldn't get any that time of night. So I have to run by the LBS today to get that. I've got my tubes stretching out on my rims as we speak and will glue them up tonight. I'll be sure to throw a finshed pic up ASAP!

Here's my Allez, before tearing the Campy parts off to build up the Tarmac.

My girlfriend rides a Dolce Elite, with Ultegra parts and a Gossamer compact crank. No good pics of that at the moment.

My Tarmac S-WORKS, sure the heck beats my C'dale R700 :D :D Considering a pair of Mavic Cosmic Carbones since I want an aluminum rim for durability. I'm also looking at the HED JET50's but havent seen any reviews, and my LBS told me that my current Kysirium ES's are way better than the JET 50's....Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

2005 Allez Elite. I like the one posted above with campy and black bar tape, I still haven't got around to changing the white bar tape on mine to black.

My 05 Comp Triple came with the All Condition Pros & I rode all last season without a flat. After toasting the rear on the trainer this winter I went out & bought another one so we'll see how season 2 goes.
