Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Specialized Tarmak Comp v. Cannondale v. Trek 2200

I can't decide which of these three bikes I like best! I want to spend under $2,000, but I want a good bike. Being that I have a budget, I need to figure out my priorities -- all carbon (specialized), all ultegra parts (trek), all-aluminum but great quality frame (cannondale)...

I've test-ridden them all and just need to make a final purchase. any suggestions from any users out there are much appreciated!!!

I think the C'dale (R1000, right?) delivers the most bang for the buck in race ready rigs. All are great options, though.

I agree that the C-dale would be the best value for the money of any of those you listed. I have a Tarmac Expert, that I put all Campy bits on. I love the frame! The comp and expert use the same frame... I've heard the 105 10 speed stuff is nice... but I'd rather have Ultegra. Have you thought about something like a Motobecane? The alu frame one for $1300 has a great set of wheels, Ultegra everything except for the FSA compact crank, and WCS bar/stem. It's the best value I've ever seen for a bike.

I've never ridden it so i can't say much about the bike itself, but the Tarmac Comp looks cool (although I like the Tarmal SL in Carbon blue even better.
