Jersey Question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Jersey Question

This is a kind of sad question but here we go. I live in a small town so need to purchase all my biking gear off the internet. I was looking at the Team Discovery Jerseys but was unsure on what size to purchase to fit snuggly. I am 6'2'' and have a 33" waist and overall average build. I normally wear my t-shirts slightly snug in a medium size. Since I am unable to try jerseys on and this is the first one I am purchasing what size would be good for me a medium or large? If these fit snugger than a t-shirt I am guessing I should go with a large? And if they fit like a t-shirt a medium? Any suggestions on a size would be appreciated.]

I might get bashed for this but ill say it anyway. When i went to my LBS and bought jerseys and stuff i got it all tight fit because i knew i was gona belosing weight. Well they solg me a girls jersey and i didnt notic(the tag) untill i had already worn it. But i gotta say, i like the way it fits beter than my dude cut jerseys. It looks exactly the same as the guy cut jerseys but the sleavs are a little bit shorter, but fits my body better anyway. My advoce is get a size smaler than what you would normally get.

I've been having the same problem. Last year I bought a bunch of cheap nashbar jerseys that were mediums. They fit fine in the body but they are too short and part of my back always shows between the shorts and the jersey. I have been wanting to buy better clothing so I think I am going to go with a large and hopefully they are not super baggy. By the way I am 6'2 175

My guess (and this is only a guess) is that you should get the extra large. I'm just a half-inch taller than you and my waist is somewhere between 33 and 34. The length on jerseys always gets me. My large jerseys ride up almost embarassingly high. So I don't wear them anymore. Extra large seems to be okay.

i'd get an xl....

performance (and many other vendors, i'm sure) has liberal return policies - if it don't fit, just return for the right size...

Silent1 I am the same hight and wieght, I don tknow about body type but even a large on some brands shows the back. those jerseys i just wear bibs with and others fit well and are long enoght to wear shorts with. but i guess what I am trying to say is different brands cut different. a club cut from Volar is very comfy in a large at 6'2 175. my 2 cents

This reminds me of the time I went to the Road Runner Sports store in San Diego to get some new running shoes. I held up a shoe and asked a salesperson if they had it in a 13 wide. She gave me a funny look and told me they were women's shoes.

If you have to order clothing off the net, you may want to ask the store what the exact measurements are (pit to pit, length, etc) and then compare those measurements to clothing that you already own.

I'm 6'1' 190 lbs and wear an XL.
