Litespeed Ultimate Build..

I was so impressed with ViperZ's Tuscany build.. I thought I would put together an Ultimate.. I really liked the components ViperZ.. so I kinda copied. I think it turned out really well.

I'm 192lbs so I went with the topolino's as I was paranoid of cracking some light mavics... probably not a big deal but they look so cool

record 10 shifters
campy front
campy short rear
campy 13-26 Ti cassette
campy Ti brakes
campy chain
stronglight pulson crank
stronglight twister BB
soon to be all nokon cables (bling bling)
topolono 29 wheels
keo carbon petals
zip b2 bar

I've not had a chance to weigh it yet as I dont have an accurate scale, but it cant weigh much..

I'll say it turned out really well! Super bike and a nice job! I have an AC29 wheelset on my CF bike. How do you like yours?

pelotonracer 04-14-06 11:31 AM

Wow?!

GuitarWizard 04-14-06 11:37 AM

Man I need a job....

skankpile 04-14-06 11:37 AM

dunno yet.. I need to put some miles on it first. Maybe its placibo, but they do see to take the edge off the road rumble, and they seem to be tougher than I origionally throught as you can hammer them pretty hard.. they will flex a little and pop right back but they feel solid

blandin 04-14-06 12:04 PM

Gorgeous!! How do you like the Stronglight cranks? Also, can you tell me where you bought them?

skankpile 04-14-06 12:22 PM

got the stronglight stuff at www.wisecyclebuys.com

I noticed the small ring is not perfectly round, but I'm not sure if it is by design or not. you cant really tell with the chain on, but when you free spin it without the chain is was off. Like a slight oval, but strangly the shorter diameter was on the power stroke so I figured it would actually help me; thus, I thought maybe it is by design.. maybe I'm crazy.

The last components I had were 105.. these are quite a change.. I'm not sure I'm qualified to give a good evaluation.. but they are cool, and one of the reasons I bought them as I've not seen any others around locally.

Oh, and the bike is awesome!

Kewl - Topolinos look sweet! Very very nice build. I was looking at the Nokon cable housings also. Where'd you get yours?

Hmmm, I might have to save up for the Topolino Carbon Tubbies if my AC29's continue to stay true.

shoerhino 04-14-06 04:59 PM

Once you get a better feel for it, let us know how it rides. I've always thought that those frames look awesome.

Ostuni 04-14-06 09:56 PM

very very nice.... many more pics please!

ravenmore 04-15-06 05:25 AM

yep - try some outside in the daylight. Daylight really helps bike pics. :D

mrkott3r 04-15-06 05:37 AM

Real hot ride though

Bob S. 04-15-06 07:40 AM

oddly enough the LBS had nokons, and they are ordering more..

some people diss them, but in all seriousness.. they are way cool.. effortless to route, dont interfere with turning, the brakes, rear derailer..AND they are easier to install than cables.. only downside I can think of is the price. If I got them in black most people would not even notice. I'm going to replace the cables on my mountain bike with nokons also, I'm sold on nokons.
