Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yet another look at my new bike thread! :)

Got a heck of a deal on closeout. I just put it together and took a little test ride, so I can't comment too much on the ride. It's fast and it seems to fit me very well so far.

Everything is Ultegra...Sella Italia Gel, Dean Ti seatpost, camo grip tape

Well... they're Shimanos that's for sure. They look like WH-R535s or WH-R540s.

i dunno what they are either, but they probably cost more than my last two cars and weigh less than the bowl of granola i had for breakfast.

Cheers...Gary

OK, THAT'S IT!! No more "My new bike" threads until I get one!

Or at least get my old trash pile Trek fixed gear finished so I can post a picture, too.

LOL. It's my urban assault vehicle. I have a spare roll of camo tape in grey/white/black.

Yup, wheels are Shimano and were not expensive by any means.

Yoda doesn't need to reach the pedals. Only sit on the saddle and *think* about pedaling

Apologies if this has been beat to death. What's the deal with the wheels? Are they too stiff, prone to spoke breakage due to the number of spokes (or lack thereof), poor hubs, weight.....do all of the shimano wheels have the same problem as these? Thanks.

https://www.roadbikereview.com/Wheels...3_2490crx.aspx

They're not the lightest wheels, but they're fairly strong...especially for a 160lb rider like myself. From what I've seen so far they're fairly stiff...I have 2 miles of dirt road to get to pavement from my driveway, and they track very well.

I have no clue about the hub problems...we'll see in time.

The main reason I got them was the price

Now wait a minute. I was planning to paint my fixed gear flat black, affix as many black components as possible and call it my Stealth Urban Vehicle (SUV) or Stealth Urban Assault Vehicle, Economy, (SUAVE). Guess I'd better copyright both so a CERTAIN small GREEN being doesn't co-opt them! Don't FORCE me to go all Jedi up 'side your head!

Nice looking bike.

What model? It looks like a Litespeed Orion.

RED Look pedals to match the bike?!
