Anyone doing the Bike-Boat-Bike or the Tour de l'Île de Montréal?

Per the SBRA's website: http://www.bicyclelongisland.org/sbra/

Bike-Boat-Bike: Sunday, June 4, 2006
In 2006 you will again be able to enjoy Shelter Island scenery. SBRA invites you to cycle Long Island's East End. Tour through the woodlands, fields, and shoreline of the North and South Forks. Take the ferry to Shelter Island. Cycle through the scenic coves and byways of beautiful Shelter Island. Ride with friends, family or join a group and make new friends. Whether your preference is social scenic viewing or fast recreational cycling, we are sure you will enjoy the tour. Bike-Boat-Bike has flat to gently rolling routes of 25, 50, 65, 100 and 125 miles with Rest Stops.

My co-worker told me about this ride which he did a few years ago. I'm seriously thinking about doing this ride, but the Tour de l'Île de Montréal is the same day and a good reason to take a long weekend and get some poutine.

Anyone w/ past experiences of either or both please feel free to comment.

I did the tour de l'ile maybe 5 years ago; if you're fast or "serious", it's maybe not that fun, as 90% of the people doing it are non-cyclists and children who aren't paying attention to how they're riding, weaving all over the place, riding 7 deep abreast, etc.

But it's not really about being "serious" either; I'm more down with it just because I'll support anything anytime where streets are closed to bikers only. I'll probably do it again this year.

The night criterium they have on St-Lawrence a few days before is kind of fun too, people standing outside the Shed and Buona Notte in their Prada watching the Colnagos blaze past on the short course on the Main.
