Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Finally got my bike built and tuned

As the title says, my TRi/TT bike is finally done and took its' maiden voyage today.

The chain needs changed, but other than that, I like it.

Since we have a baby coming in September, I tried to be somewhat budget minded. I came in at $1200 for what you see. I still need to decide on a HED Jet or HED3 front though.

The color is a little wild for me, but oh well, it's kinda growing on me.

I know, I know. Two issues....

1. the first frame I bought would have looked good with red tires, so I bought red tires for it. I built it up and hated it, so I sold it, getting the Fort. The disc is a tubular, so at $50 a tire, I decided to keep it red.

2. Our team is sponsored by Michelin. Since I do tri's, our team tire is the Ironman(blue Pro Race 2 for road bikes). It only comes in red, so I bought a red tubular to match.

What TT's are you entering? I'm doing one at end of month but gotta get some TT bars soon. I wonder if K&G has any cheapies.

I don't know what I am going to do yet. At least the Blue Streaks that I'm not working, the next Ipro, the Ohio Police and Firefighter Games(triathlon and 2 TT's) and possibly the State TT championships. 8-10 tri's on top of that.

I was thinking of doing Ipro this weekend, but I'm in a swim camp, so I don't know if I'll make it or not.

As far as the aerobars, K&G always has some cheap profiles. A guy on our team is selling some Carbon Strykes though and I'm sure he'd give you a fair deal if they are the right size. I'll PM you his info.
