100 km (62 mile) + days?

How many days of the week do you ride over 100 kms (62 miles)?

Just curious. :D :D

During the winter, I will do that distance, or more .... usually more ..... a couple times a month.

During the summer, once or twice a week, sometimes more often.

Jet-man 04-20-06 07:43 PM

3 days per week

celticfrost 04-20-06 07:47 PM

1 time p/wk (usually between 60-70 miles). Then a few other rides that average about 25 miles each.

At least one, usually a weekend ride (and usually it's closer to 100 miles rather than kms). It's nice to do back-to-back 100km rides but it is often difficult to fit more than one a week into the schedule.

maby four. i definatly get in 50 per day avg.

Jakey 04-20-06 09:56 PM

Damn... I hate all of you. Once or twice a week starting soon.... ramping up for my double (imperial) this summer... Everything from here until july is really preperation for that. Then come the hilly centuries...

roadfix 04-20-06 10:00 PM

Maybe couple or three times a month on average....

oboeguy 04-20-06 10:01 PM

Maybe one. I'd prefer to do two or more, but there are other things in life...

How dare you say that.

About twice a week! Trying to increase it to atleast 4 times a week. All part of the training I'm doing for my upcoming 800km ride with four days. All for kids with cancer so they can go to camp. It's called Tour for kids. I'll be needing some people to pledge for me with donations. I'll be sure to let you all know more about the tour and hit ya up for donations :)

once until May. then with nicer weather it'll probably go to 2. It was two this week for the second week in a row.

SAB 04-21-06 04:16 AM

I will generally do two long rides, back-to-back, on the weekends. Saturday I will do 40-50 miles, Sunday is a little longer, 60-80 miles. I have an upcoming 145 mile ride and before then I'll do one 100+ miler on a weekend. Weekdays I have time for only 20-25 miles in the mornings - this is done with a group and is much higher intensity than the weekends.

patentcad 04-21-06 04:52 AM

I've been averaging about 300 mi. per week for the past month. Hard to do that weeks like this week where they're predicting rain all weekend. I'll probably ride in the rain, but a couple of Saturdays ago my planned 60 mile ride became about 40 when I cut it short in the 40º downpour. I typically ride over 100km 1-2 days each week, usually on the weekend. I'll do 50 today and in conjuction with one other 50 miler earlier this week that will give me 160 or so for the week - with a rainy weekend on tap. Oh well.

Riding in the rain does suck doesn't it? It has been a relatively warm/dry spring here in the NE, which has been wonderful. A year ago it was FREEZING until Memorial Day.

Eyeseeu 04-21-06 04:59 AM

I don't go by miles until an event, I usually go by hours of seat time. Of course I have to do too much of my mileage "burning carpet" as sydney would have said, because of travelling for work.
Right now I am doing 22 hrs per week including at least 6 hours on Saturdays.

HWS 04-21-06 06:39 AM

I try to get in at least one.

cydewaze 04-21-06 06:51 AM

Not many. Our usual weekend ride is 57. I've been trying to find a good way to change it around and bump the mileage, but it's tough to do in this area while still keeping to low-traffic roads. There's one cool way I found to bump the mileage, but it involves riding over 2 miles on loose gravel. Not great for a bike with 23c tires.

Albany-12303 04-21-06 07:23 AM

A few rides of about 50 km per one and maybe 3 rides of 120 km per month (that's my commuting distance - 60 km each way to work)

55/Rad 04-21-06 07:42 AM

How many time per week? I can't count that high. Let me take off my shoes so I can accurately tell you how many times per DAY.

:)

Only when I don't have a lot of time to train I do it at 24 MPH is this good? I'm just starting out.
