Cycling Lawyer
Does anyone know a VA attorney that specializes in cycling? Thanks for your help.

This might be the obvious reply but check with your local bicycling club.

What do you mean by "specializes in cycling?" I'm an attorney (practice in DC), and as far as I know, there is no discrete "cycling" area of law. It might be helpful if you could shed a little more light on the type of advice you are seeking.

Perhaps he/she needs to know if it is legal to wear undies under bibs in Virginia. Either that or if it is mandatory to wear matching team jerseys and bibs :D

Defendant then tries on the offending jersey in the courtroom, setting up for the classic closing argument: "If the jersey does not fit, you must acquit!" 2) The Rainbow Defense - "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I think you can all agree that this jersey is really more of a lime green than yellow." |
How about a law student that specializes in cycling? Is that close enough?

I would imagine he's looking for a lawyer who has dealt with and is expierianced in working with cyclists involved in some type of litigation...

As a lawyer, I suggest that this should only be a "last resort" option. With travel from NYC to Virginia, that's gotta be expensive, as the lawyer would have to charge something for travel time when he would not otherwise be billing clients. If he's not licensed in Virginia, he'd have to get local counsel to move his admission pro hac vice, and he'd have to know both Virginia law and local rules. A bit risky, but if it's the OP's only choice.... However, as others have pointed out, much depends on the nature of the problem, which presently remains unclear. |
Look on Findlaw.com

Although I am a lawyer who cycles I do not think this is what you mean. ;)
I second the Findlaw.com route. It should help pinpoint who may be able to help you. Don't forget to interview a couple though so you can find one you're comfortable with. |
