How was your ride today?
For me, it was a great day. Sixty-five degrees with slight winds, clear skies. I got out the steel Bianchi and my partner and I did a hard 30 miles on the bike trail, taking turns pulling every mile and averaging 20.0 mph against a slight headwind! Whoo! Spent about 90% of my time in the drops, hardly even had to change gears. My legs are sore, but it was a good ride.
How 'bout yours?

Rocking the roads of Bama
First ride outside in probably 6 months. 72º, windy - crowded on the paths. Rode 17 miles, very happy.
Did a few little hills, I'm out of shape and I need a new bike.

Today's ride was great...also about thirty miles, with one challenging hill at the end.The weather was chillier today than it has been lately...sixties or so, a little wind. I'm also *quite* out of shape, but I've been lazy lazy this winter. It feels so nice to go outside. Pretty sweet.

Mine was painful! Also weird for Florida on the last day of April because it was in the 50's when I set out at dawn and I had to dig my jacket out!
Normally on Sunday I'll do a longish ride (~70 miles), but today I had other things that needed to be done so I did intervals instead in a 40 mile ride. After warming up with a nice easy spin for 14 miles I did one set of ten with 30 seconds "on" followed by 30 seconds "off". Five minutes later I did a set of ten with one minute "on" followed by two minutes "off". My legs are still sore so tomorrow will be a recovery ride day.

We had 18+ bikeforum group members show for the Salem bicycle club monster cookie ride. Sunny, moderate northern wind, 63 miles, 20.3 avg. 3 rest stops, one 50 yard sprint for stop sign, and one huge snickerdoodle at the end... no oatmeal raisin for me.

65 degrees. 25 miles. Not too challenging, but I got intentionally lost and found some new roads. And oh yeah, somehow it was uphill and into the wind both ways.

Every day a winding road
Fantastic ride today. 15-20 knts out the East, plenty of sun. Reefed we were still doing around 5 knts, in my little 19 foot cruiser. Oh that's right this isn't the sailing forum. Got the boat in the water today and couldn't resit taking her for a spin, no bicycle ride.

Rain, Rain, and more rain. It did nothing but rain today. So, I stood out in the rain and starting laying out and digging holes for a tree house for the kids. I hope you guys got a nice sunburn!

At home today getting stuff done but yesterday... 82 smokin' miles on the official Montauk Century training ride. At the turn-around in Stony Point it was obvious that half the group of 13 was much faster than the other half, so off we went... only to be shatterred on the road. Two guys were sick fast. My brother was hanging with them for a good long while but then apparently peeled-off to wait for me. I couldn't handle their pace on the first climb on the way back and eventually waited a few miles outside of Stony Point for a couple of others who I'd somehow passed -- I did not relish limping home 30+ miles. Spent from the effort of trying to stay with the locomotives, I the two who caught me pull me for a good, long while. With 10-15 miles to go we found my brother slowly riding along, hoping that I'd eventually catch him. He was afraid I'd bonked! Hardly, I just got my butt handed to me is all. The funny part is that I was feeling much better by then and when we got back to my place, my brother is the one who passed out on the couch.

Todays' ride was awesome. ...~19 riders 15 or so are actual BF members I think, two incredible double pacelines, and my best impression of Alessandro Petacchi....for 50 yards.

Mid 80's cloudless bright blue sky light breeze. Two miles in I ran over a piece of metal and sliced my brand new tire nearly in half. Luckily my riding partner had a boot. The rest of ride was zone 1 nice easy cadance and good conversation with my friend and teammate Carl.

Did the Chico, Ca. Wildflower today. Did a modified version of the century, 70 miles. 4900 feet of climbing that I was not in shape for, then 15 miles of brutal head winds. I'm pretty wiped out. The ride was nice, though. Beautiful scenery. Well supported. GREAT food and a way-cool jersey! I will definitely do it again.

A sufferfest as I did the lower half of the Climb to Kiaser ride. 5000 ft in 40 miles, turned around when there was snow on the ground and clouds moving in. Back down on the valley floor it was a warm 85 degrees. What happened to spring? One week it's in the low 60's, the next in the mid 80's. Hills are green, waterfalls are flowing, bugs are sticking to my arms and legs. Does it get any better?
