Tube Valve Color!
Ok what color are your tube valves? I had just been buying whatever the LBS recommended and they were always an ugly gold/brass color that did not match my silver wheels. I bought some Specialized tubes and were happy to see that the valve was shiny silver like my wheels...

Michelin makes silver tube valves, in case you need more.

I have black wheels, but never seen valves in black, so i guess ill just go with silver, via specilaized. Although, ive seen both bronze and silver from specialized, so they are not all silver, just an fyi.

I use Hutchinson tubes with a smooth nasty dirty brass color. Continental is shiny threaded brass with a yellow cap, and my Michelin tubes are silver. I forget which has the blue cap Hutchinson or Michelin.

My tubes are mis-matched right now. Performance (ugly brass) in the back, and Specialized (silver) up front.

Brass, but I silver sharpied the presta nut on them. I have no idea why, but it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
Pretty much I'm not concerned about chrome vs brass vs other stem color...just if the thing stays tight and keeps the air in.

I've got a brass tube with a nut on the front and a silver tube with no nut on the rear. The rear tube was uber cheap and put on by an lbs after I flated with no tube.
Actually, this thing sort of annoys me but it so trivial that I am refusing to change tubes until I flat again.

Matching the valve stems? Do you match your piercings and the fillings in your teeth to your bike too?

Some enterprising company needs to start marketing to the OCP crowd and offer annodized valve stems. As much as it seems silly, I'll bet they'd sell.

hmmmm....I like these serious topics.
I haven't really noticed, but........
I like threaded valve stems for good pump nozzle grip, and I've noticed that both silver and brass threaded stems dirty up after a short while. The shiny, sliver, threadless valve stems are the only ones you can keep looking good

I don't use the stem nut, nor the cap. By the nut, I meant the nut that keeps the valve shut.

The two rims on my road bike don't even match and I'm supposed to care about the valve?

I'm not which is more disturbing; that someone ASKED the question? Or that many people are taking the time to think of and type a response.
They're valve stems. If you think the color of your valve is more important than the rubber compound that connects you to the road, then please follow me through the corners at 35mph. Do not try to lead.

I don't know what is funnier; that you found this question "disturbing" or that YOU took the time to think of and type a response.
