106.812 miles per hour a new world record, I guess downhill MTB was not made to hit a pot hole at that speed.
11 broken bones....thats got to hurt.
I cant really make it out was he wearing a mtb skin suit with body armor. at that speed a motocycle racing suit with full padding would be a better choice.
Great video

Bicycle rule of thumb #4567: Check frame integrity before racing down the side of a volcano.

I've seen this before, first run was practice and then the full body suit for a shot at the world record. I guess he did all kinds of wind tunnel testing on the suit and bike and had a special helmet made. Too bad he forgot to do a stress analysis on the frame.
It's like those videos of extreme skiers (or insert any other "X" sport) that tumble down a mountain. Am I supposed to pity these people? As far as I'm concerned, I just don't want to choke on my dinner from laughter while watching these kinds of shows on tv.

I would also say the first-aid practice of stripping and jiggling someone who've just had a 100mph+ crash and possible broken bones and spinal-injuries isn't the best thing to do....

Oh he had a helmet on-- the resistance from sliding on the lava scree ripped it off his head.
