Good thing I decided against my evening ride tonight

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good thing I decided against my evening ride tonight

I got home and wanted a ride, but it looked very threatening out. I got suited up, but when I opened the back door, it smelled very humid and tropical, kind of like it smelled during Isabel. So I shut the door and stayed home.

10 minutes later, the sky opened up, and the wind kicked up seriously. I flipped on the TV to find a tornado warning. Sorry, I'm not that desperate for a 15-mile ride that I'm ready to be hanging on to a pole somewhere while my bike flaps in the breeze on the end of my feet, still clipped in.

Same deal here in NC, I left work and it was looking OMINOUS out there. I sat down, watched the Simpsons, and an hour later the storm had blown over.

Nothing like a 7:30-8:45 blue and 72 ride

Partly sunny, 70 degrees and no wind at all yesterday in the Chicago burbs, and I had no time to ride. Rain coming down sideways, high of 45 today and 50 mph gusts, and all the time in the world to ride today. Life aint fair some times.

You and me both. I live in College Park and it seriously looked like Monsoon season outside. I almost got out in it myself...

LOL!! You even got the bike right too! lmao.

@Silverexpress: I don't think tornados have eyes. Hurricanes do.

If I had to guess I'd say he was using Ticonderoga 2.0.

Holy crap!

Using MS Paint with a mouse, I might be able to draw an inkblot. Maybe.

About what time was this?

I got caught in a portion of the storm, yesterday, during my commute home. I made it all the way to the Maryland School for the Blind, in a light rain, before it started coming down harder.

Last year I was caught in storm on the way home that had the roads 'ponding'. That was the day I decided to buy neoprene booties, 'cuz the rooster tails from the front wheel shot water right into my shoes.

That must have been some storm. There were trees down across the Capital Crescent Trail on this morning's commute...
