Custom Painted BMC! With Pics

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Custom Painted BMC! With Pics

Saw an ad on Craigslist with the title CUSTOM PAINT YOUR BIKE. Figured it'd be a cheesy cruiser with badly done flames, but found this BMC frame instead. I could think of better things to do with a $3k carbon frameset.

Anyway, thought this was just too odd not to share.

Perhaps this could be Phonak's new look for 2007!

I dunno, to me it looks like the world's most expensive Burningman bike. Seems almost wrong to do that to a BMC, but then again, I bet that paint is a great theft deterrent.

Not a custom paint job, a paint job you have to grow acustommed to. It looks ike a third grade art assignment. Lookout Project One

that's just wrong.

the person responsible for that paint job should go to trial for crimes against aesthetics.

Why anyone would ever do that to a BMC I will never understand. They do the same thing with some of the Colnagos, again, why would yo do this?

I like it. But then, I've waited 2 years for a paint job - what taste can I possibly have?

I understand instead of carbon fiber, that bike was made from epoxied hemp. Seattle Craigslist...painter's in BC, right?

Directions for the above paint job.

1. Get a 200 gallon drum.

2. Put frame inside with a psychotic cat.

3. Add one gallon of multi-colored paint.

4. Close lid.

5. Roll around for 5 minutes.

6. Remove frame, and hang up to dry.

7. Fill drum 1/4 full with warm soapy water.

8. Replace lid.

9. Roll around for additonal 5 minutes.

10. Remove clean cat.

I understand. Really.

You see it's the same old dilema: Everyone wants a really capable crit bike that they're not afraid to crash because it's so beautiful. With that you actually hope to crash so you ride like hell. Call the paintjob "Deathwish".

Step 10 is not really necessary.

You're kidding. You still haven't reclaimed your frame and sent it to a painter that will paint it?

Methinks this might be a BMC 'second', 'X-out', or 'knockoff'. The lugs look right, but I don't think someone would deface a pristing BMC with this abortion of a paint job.

Maybe the buyer thought the frame was defective in the first place...I mean, they put the fork on backwards!@lol!!!1eleven.
