Sunglasses for Cycling

These are the best sunglasses that I have ever used for cycling. They do look a little weired, but they are great for keeping the wind out of your eyes. Another plus is that they never drop down because the helmet locks them in place. Here is Oakley's web page for the sunglasses: Oakley Over the Top

$ 180.00!!! Are you mad, or just mildly deluded???

KennethToronto 01-03-03 01:59 PM

? thanks for sharing?

Unless you want to look like a fruit....don't wear these glasses lol

I've seen em in a local sporting goods store.
The absolute ugliest glasses I've ever seen.

Unless you're David Millar...no...

TLN 01-03-03 03:53 PM

Personally I rather have a fly in one eye and sweat dripping down in the other than wear those glasses....just my opinion.

My optician is carring a few of these, and I have to say that the first word that came to mind was "UGH!!!"

madcyclist 01-03-03 06:55 PM

Hey brac,

I thought that was one of those new hi-tech sports bras.

Here's what the medical experts say about sunglasses:

Check it out

http://www.byjamesraia.com/cycling/a.../000046.shtml.

As as my eye doc says, "If you ain't wearing polarized sunglasses, you're wasting your time wearing anythin at all."

twowheeler 01-03-03 08:52 PM

They look like an alien bra!

rchan 01-04-03 02:13 AM

Hmmm... how much does a prescription lens adapter cost for that?

Arsbars 01-04-03 08:59 AM

And you can look like Scotty Cannon of the NHRA Funnycars!!!

God meant us to wear regular glasses, otherwise he wouldn't have put our ears on the sides of our head.

stridercc 01-05-03 07:40 PM

I know that I said was would pretend I never saw this thread, but today I was riding on my rollers, I finished the 2000 tour de france, so I moved onto 2001. Low and behold David Milliar leaves the start for the prolog. What caught my attention was the fact that he was wearing the objects (I don't w ant to call the m sun glasses) disscused in this thread for the time trial  . The only thing I could think was, How much did Oakley have to pay him to get him to wear those.

Van Gogh could have used these. ;)

We bought Rudy Project flip-ups. We never would have done, simply because of the 'hip, rad, and 00s' factor, but they are a great solution for people with prescription glasses. In fact, the "permanent" lenses in mine are my most recently replaced (but current scrip) lenses, cut down to fit. And bifocals to boot.

Now we only need one pair of glasses on rides, so we don't jeopardize our real ones through loss or damage.

Cheers...Gary

To intimidate the cagers on road rides!

I can't think of anybody that would wear "overthetop" glasses. Unless of course, they're being paid too.

I wear Oakley "M" Monster frames for almost every sports activity and driving. Got them with blue/yellow, dark grey and clear lenses, all with prescription lenses. They have been worth every penny to me.

PS.. My son said those glasses look stupid and uncool... sorry.
