Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FRACK-- riding through fresh tar & asphalt

So they're repaving almost all of the parking lots at NVCC-- Northern Virginia Community College. No big deal, right? Wrong. Those asshats dribbled/sloshed/spilled so much crap on the surrounding roadways that the tires got good and sticky, then proceeded to pick up every single pebble and sharp object for the next 8 miles. Nothing like the machinegun *TINK TINKY TINKTINK* of ejected gravel slamming into your downtube to cheer you up.

I must have run my gloved hand over the spinning tires 30 times to clear them.
