Custom steel frame. Italian?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ha! One of those black and yellow EOS3s was the first of the 'new' (Genius or Foco -- can't remember) light steels I saw, several years ago. As I had the frame in my hands, I was telling the shop guy how nice it was, etc, etc, then I asked what type of aluminium it was. When he replied, "no, it's steel", I almost didn't believe him. The frame was probably not super-light (most likely around 1600g), but I could sure tell the difference.

I missed out on a red, white and black Nemo EOS3 or EOS5 a couple of years ago -- bummer.

Thanks. I'll stick with my yellow/black Scapin EOS3. Will ship the Spirit S6 to Australia, if you are interested.

custom steel = england!
mercian do custom for only a few pounds more than the normal price, so it would work out at about 800-900$, maybe a wee bit more. that is a lot of money saved over most american custom builders. either that, or use a local builder. as nice as sachs, waterford et al are, they are very expensive compared to uk prices! (see, not everything in the uk is expensive... campy, frames and dairy is cheap!)

Don't know the current exchange-rate, but will take $800USD plus shipping to Australia.

The S6 I'm selling is probably 200-300g lighter than the EOS3. But, guess I'm a traditional frame kind of guy. Can't make myself build-up the compact frame for me. Too old fashioned at the age of 58, I guess.

same here. I have a Cinelli similar to this, and I struggle a little, even with the 6 degree slope.
