Terry Falcon saddle anyone?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Terry Falcon saddle anyone?

Checked roadbikereview.com and did and a google search for reviews on the Terry Falcon saddle and found nothing. Anyone riding their butt on one of these? If so how is it, just looking for some feedback.

bigsnake76 I just received a men's Falcon Y yesterday and have only put about 40 miles on it. I'm still tweaking and adjusting (fine tuning) things. I bought it as a possible replacement for the Bontrager Race Lite Lux saddle that came with my Trek Pilot after reading a post somewhere on bikeforums. My initial impression is that it is a bit firmer or harder than the Bontrager. The part that your seat bones rest on doesn't seem to have much, if any, "give" to it. It looks to be pretty well constructed and it is certainly light enough. But it's difficult to give a decent review until I put some substantial miles in with this saddle.

I bought a falcon Y a couple of months ago to replace my Fizik Arione. I wasn't extremely happy with the Arione . The falcon is a decent saddle I Have owned terry liberators in the past andhave always been happy with the terry quality. After putting a couple hundred miles on the Falcon Y I switched back to the arione and since it has broken-In The Arione is extremely comfortable. There was some confusion with the falconY about the saddle cover material. The saddle came with a swatch that said genuine leather but it is actually synthetic leather. The swatches were put on by mistake by the manufacturer, this according to an Email in received from Georgina Terry. the Falcon was comfortable I just prefer the oversize of the Arione. The only other thing I wasn't too keen on was the fake carbon wrap on the rails. Looks kinda cheesy. besides that its a light and very nicely shaped saddle I may put it on a future bike.

I got one about a month ago and ended up sending it back. My review of it is that for the first 30 miles, I didn't even feel the seat. Over 30 miles, it hurt very bad. I rode it about 4 times over 30 miles with the same results. If I was riding less than 30 miles at a time, I would have kept it, but I usually ride over 50. The seat I have now is a Sela Italia SLK. It was much different. This one starts hurting my sit bones after 5 miles, but doesn't get any worse even after 50. That tells me I will adjust. Only rode 2 rides on it of 70 miles, but it wasn't near as bad as the Terry.

Yep, I've got a bit of an update as well. I ended up replacing my Falcon Y with a Specialized Alias 143. For me it was a real improvement. I did 60 miles on it day before yesterday, another 20 miles yesterday, and 25 miles today. Very comfortable.

Wonderful to ride on!

Well, I for one really love my Terry Falcon saddle! I replaced the stock Bontrager "Racer" saddle that shipped with my Trek 1.5, due primarily to netherworld numbness and a pretty uncomfortable ride overall. I initially looked for a "better" Bontrager, but I quickly gave up that quest when it looked like all they had were variations on the same saddle I already had. I searched around on the web, and I came to the conclusion that I might benefit from trying a cutout design. I asked my local bike shop to order a Terry Falcon. From the second I replaced the saddle, it felt like total relief! Even after 50km+ rides, you just don't notice the saddle. That's what I was looking for. It's like replacing a picnic bench with a really nice office chair! Plus, all the numbness went away.

FWIW, I am 5'11" and 190 lbs., and most of my riding is short commuting (trips under 5 miles each) through the week and occasional "charity" rides of around 20-35 miles.
