Look Pedal warranty?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

anyone know what the manufacturer's warranty is on Look pedals? I manages to snap a spindle today on my ride and went a'tumblin.

I guess no one has ever faced a catastrophic pedal failure using Look pedals...?

I don't know about looks, but I know I've shattered numerous shimano SPD pedals and none of them were covered at all.

Well, the upside is my bike is back from the shop with a new set of Look KeO clipless. Owing to the crash caused by 'catastrophic pedal failure' I also had to rewrap the bars with new tape, true both wheels, and reset the position on the bars of the left brifter.

I have *never* gone down so hard as this crash. I've had my share of spectacular falls, but I've pretty much seen them coming and managed to either prepare or tuck and roll or somehow lessen the damage to my body. In this case, I was accelerating away from a stoplight, standing on the cranks and pretty much making a maximum effort when the rightside pedal spindle sheared off at maximum load time. I'm really lucky I didn't smash the boys on the toptube, however I somehow managed to fall ONTO the bike when I hit. Brutal hipper, roadrash on right forearm, various spectacular bruises on arms-- oh, and a nice chainring tatoo on the right calf.

The laughter issuing from the various motorists who witnessed this was really supportive and reinforced my faith in humanity-- asshats.

Not in this area. After I picked myself up and carried my bike to the side, I laid down for awhile (10 minutes?) under a shade tree until the debilitating pain subsided. When I looked up there was a Fairfax County Sheriff's deputy stopped at the curb with his lights on. He asked if I was ok, I said I was fine and just recuperating from a little fall. He said he had a call that there was a cyclist 'hit by a truck' at the intersection and was investigating. I had to laugh at that one. I assured him I was ok, he offered an ambulance but I declined-- didn't need an emt swabbing my boo-boos with iodine at taxpayer's expense.

Take it back to the LBS. Mine offered to return my keos when they developed "the squeak." They said Look will just send a new pair and I could take those or they would credit me towards a different manufacturer.

I'm sure any dealer could return them.

I have broken the spindle on 2 separate right-side LOOK pedals. Both times I returned them to the place of purchase (Excel Sports Boulder) and both times the pedals were replaced. LOOK spindles carry a life time warranty. The second pedal that broke was the replacement of the first pedal that broke - about 2 years later.

I listened to the shop owner argue with a Veltec rep for about an hour over a rider being too heavy for Look pedals. The rider weighs 165#, Veltec kept ranting Look pedals were rated for 150# max.
