Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's not the absolute speed, it's the relative speed.

The little one is great-- almost 2 1/2. Starting to ramp up the riding a bit more in preparation for my first half-ironman this fall. Things are good.

Thanks. Just figured I'd stop by today and was reminded about this thread. It nicely chronicles my descent from yell-ee into yell-er bike racer. Of course since then I gave up the roadie scene and stuck with triathlon, but the thread still rocks. And I still yell at people who do dumb stuff in pacelines.

I do that to establish dominance in the heard. I also like to sprint from the rear, pass the leader and make him work when I feel the group is slacking.

I'm trying to build up the nerve to yell at one of my friends that refuses to give me hand signals.

I might be going up to Flint in July and there is a small chance that I can take a bike with me. That isn't so far away. What is the 411 on this ride? Maybe I can get yelled at by the best!

You can yell at me all you want but I won't be able to hear you over the whir of the Di2 servo motors.
