Dog Poop Waterfall; lests try this again
That was strange.
My thread title earlier showed up but without my message.....so people just started answering about poop experiences on their rides and the whole thread got moved! TOO STRANGE...... Don't move this one....and I'll explain what it means again...since you never saw it to begin with! Dog poop waterfall. This is a thread about the little things you say to yourself while on a training ride. Today I was just soaking up the sun and trying to loosen up the legs by going easy after Sunday's big ride. So I worked on my pedal stroke by reminding myself quite often, dog poop waterfall. The push down part of the stroke is a given, but the bottom of the stroke should feel like you are trying to scrape dog poop off your cleat. The waterfall came from my coach, who told me that a waterfall doesn't just go down. It sort of crests on the way up and over, then comes crashing down. Same thing should apply to your pedal stroke. So, combine the dog poop scrape with the waterfall and if you are like me, you'll fine a much more effective and smooth pedal stroke. Try it...you might like it. Dog poop waterfall..... |
Makes much better sense now, with some explanatory text!
I don't know if I'll be trying it, though... it just might make me puke if I keep thinking that over and over while riding. |
Much more colorful than Chris Carmichael's voice on his training DVD's saying "Push over the top dead-center, and pull through the bottom dead-center."
Dog poop waterfall. I like it. :D DrPete |
Hip...you are so weird. ;)
|
...why thank you toad!
It's all in the marketing baby. |
Thanks Hip. No matter how hard I try to forget this I know it will be repeating in my head like the rapport from a machine gun the next time I'm "dogging" in the sun and looking for a chant/mantra to to take me to my "happy place" while I push through the pain.....
..."Dog poop waterfall, Dog poop waterfall, Dog poop waterfall..." |
Oh.... read the thread title and thought the Dave Matthews tour bus must be up in Milwaukee this week...
On topic, I usually find myself reciting lyrics to the folk songs or kids songs that our daughter likes. "Little red caboose..... little red caboose.... riding behind the train.... Choo! Choo!" Dang. Now it's stuck in my head. Well, better than dogs deficating in waterfalls, I guess.... |
as if you were to pedal single legged...
