Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Time/Distance to MPH calculator?

I need help with a link I found out here somewhere and can't find it again. It allowed one to enter distance and elapsed time and calculated average MPH out of it. I'm trying to get ready for senior olympic 5K and 10K time trials. I got my time down from 10:41 to 7:25, and am trying to figure out where that puts me relatively...

Thanks in advance, and keep pushing...

Am I missing something here? Distance in miles divided by time in hours = miles per hour. If you have some minutes, divide those by 60 to decimalize them, e.g., 1 hour and 30 minutes = 1.5 hours.

D=R*T, R=D/T

Take your time, and convert it into hours - i.e. 45 min=3/4 hrs.
A simple formula is: minutes/60+seconds/3600+hours
If you rode for 1h15m23s, then you sum: 1+15/60+23/3600

Then simply divide your distance by that quantity.

So if you rode 20 miles in 1h15m, you'll have 20/1.25=16mph
