Looking for help. Newbie here.
After reading this forum for a little bit, I have noticed that many people come from similar situations as me. I'm 19 and I messed up my knee playing basketball and the doctor suggested swimming and cycling. My only experience is with cheap mountain bikes as a child, but I think it is time to buy a more serious bike. I am considering buying this bike... https://kozy.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=3714 Is the price any good? There is another bike similar... https://kozy.com/itemdetails.cfm?id=3711 I know there are differences but being a newbie, I'm not really sure what they mean. I'm leaning more towards the Sequoia. Any help is appreciated.

I used to mountain bike all the time. I lived on Long Island right near a great trail and I worked afternoons/evening so I had the day to ride.
Then I finished grad school and moved to NYC. Plenty of dirt but none to ride on. I put slicks on my Specialized, I swapped the cog set for a lower set of gears and put on bigger chain rings so I could rid ethe roads of the city with some speed. I was miserable but I didn't want to become a roadie.
Eventualy, I bought a frame and built my road bike. Now I'm putting in about 150 miles/wk (and I rarely ride on the wekends because of family.)
If I was still riding the mtn bike/hybrid I wouldn't still be riding. If you are looking for enjoyable road riding... get a road bike. Period.

Kozy's...I've heard a lot of great things about them, but have not made it out there.....YET. From what you have it narrowed down to I would suggest the Sequoia. Good price. Nice solid entry level bike. Now go buy it and ride it so that you can start posting back for advice on which upgrades to buy because you've "gotten the bug,"
