Buying 1st bike, Need advice!
Well my very sweet girlfriend is fulfilling a long standing desire of mine to own and ride a street bicycle. I actually had no intention of busy a cycle that was outside the 300$ Motobicane ebay crowd. But when we met a old friend that works at Sun & Ski sports she offered to help us out and get me on a bike from there. Well the tent sale was on today and went and looked at some bikes. The manager suggested a Masi Alare. I really liked the bike and was impressed with how solid it felt under my crushing weight. I have never owned a street bike before but I have read a lot on here (lurker). I like the bike. The styling and the dimensions. I could just use some input. Match my height weight with a bike you would suggest, or applaud random manager guy for his great selection!
Me specs-
6'2"
~230 lbs
my legs are not that long compared to my hight (manager guy said my legs were short
)
Things I noticed-
1) The bike felt solid
2) I was SUPRISED at the, for lack of a better word, squirreliness of the steering
Thanks!
Brian

Get a measuring tape and enter your measurements on this site:
https://www.wrenchscience.com/WS1/Sec...ing/Height.asp
It'll give you the bike sizing that should work for you.
Also- make sure the bike's features match the type of riding you will do. Dont waste money on features you wont use.
