Garmin 305. How long have you gotten yours' to stay on?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm doing a ride this weekend in which I'm worried about the battery dying. I have an external battery, but being as its mostly climbing.. I don't REALLY wanna take it. Think I'm okay with 7 hours with the HRM running?

Hi,

Well, I got 9 hours out of mine last Saturday with the HR monitor but no cadence. The low battery warning came on once about 45 min before I finished but the battery held on regardless.

Really? How stupid. Why don't they just make the battery bars last longer?!?!?!? After a 5 hour century I had like one bar left.. sounds like I should've had two or three if you could get 9 hours.
