Training for the tour(s)

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Training for the tour(s)

O.K., this is how i plan to train for the two bigtime tours i dream of doing someday: the tour de france, and the tour d'italia. 1st, i'm going to find someone who will drive me from spot to spot. I'll wake up every day, eat, and hit the road. i plan to ride 135, 165, 200 miles a day, varying the days i ride different distances to keep myself fresh. in the hills, on the flats, for as many days as whichever tour i plan to ride in is going to be. i'll start doing this months before the tour, with 2 weeks or so doing light to moderate riding just before the tour. i know it'll be a while before i'm in any tours, but i just wanted to throw this out there. any objections?

Hmm...the tour d'italia?

If you're for real, get a coach and learn how to say "tour" in Italian.
