the 07 sarthe looks much better than the 06 sarthe but the 05 one is the best all them all. i am still of the opinion that the 2005 lemond Sarthe was the coolest bike of 2005. im so glad my lbs made me buy it.

Bike Line on Arch St. in Philly still has at least one 59cm '05 Sarthe in stock. It would be mine if it wasn't too big...dang it!

FYI, Bike Line in Broomall had a 55cm '05 Sarthe a few months back, and it's still listed on their website. I rode it, but ended up buying the 53cm instead. It's a sweet bike.

I wanted to buy a filmore at the end of the year-but I wanted the high end steel one with carbon fork-maybe I'll be able to get an 06-otherwise I'll just keep my present 4130 track bike and write I HATE GREG LEMOND on it.

I miss the old steel Lemond line. I like Trek but they really ruined Lemond IMO. They should have kept it all steel and maybe a little Ti on the high end. At least they still have the Sarthe, but I miss the rest of the line. Everyone offers carbon and aluminum these days, Lemond used to offer great steel frames at great prices which is getting harder and harder to find. My dad and my brother both ride Lemond steel frames and love them. I used to ride one and it was just a great riding bike. Ever since the steel/carbon spine thing they have been on a downhill slide.

Just got back from vacation cycling in the Blue Ridge Mountains and noticed a crack in the frame of my Ti Lemond Victoire while doing routine maintenence. I just took it back to LBS who advised it is likely to be replaced. I just checked and saw they went with full carbon in the newest Victoire from the previous Carbon-Ti mix. Has anyone seen this bike yet?
Anyone out there with suggestions on pros and cons of going with one frame over the other would be greatly appreciated? Thanks!

I am not particularly fond of Lemond or his bicycles, but I did p/u a 2006 Lemon Tourmalet all 105 and Bontrager for my son retailing @ $949.00.
Since the top tube is somewhat longer this fits my son ideally.
It is a titanium type silver with white letters of Lemond.
The only thing I did not really like was the low-end bontrager crank, but that is up to my son if he wants to replace it.
If I ever take pictures of my bikes and post them here this will be included.

I had a chance to ride a 2007 prototype W/full Dura-Ace over at Gregs house 2 Weekends ago, and very much liked the ride. I am presently riding a Tete de Course with full Record, and am not ready to make the change to the 2007 model. The all carbon frame was an exceptionally comfortable ride, but seemed dull or flat... (Not that lively Ti feel that I'm accustom to with my Ti/Carbon Tete).

I just had my LBS order an '06 Sarthe for me. I would have preferred an '05, but he cound't find one. I decided to go with the '06 as it's full Ultegra rather than the 105/Ultegra mix on the '07. I also tried the Versailles, which is a nice bike, but preferred the ride of the Sarthe. Not sure if it's the better components/wheels or something else, but it's just a great riding bike.
btw, the LBS guy thinks I'm insane for buying a $1600 steel bike rather than an entry level carbon, like the Specialized Roubaix. The Roubaix is a really nice bike, as are some Treks in the $2K range, but the Sarthe just feels right.

Good choice. I wonder if for 07, they combined the Sarthe and Croix de Fer models, since they're only offering the Sarthe, and hence the 105/Ultegra mix.
