Questions on cadence, power in the drop and out of the saddle
For the experience cylists out there.
Is there an optimal cadence for riding out of the saddle? I spin around 90 rmp in the saddle but the cadence drops down to mid 70s when I'm out of the saddle. I've practiced spinning faster but that only tired me out faster.
Also, when in the deep drop, what I gain in aerodynamic I seem to loose in power. Breathing also isn't as comfortable so I don't spend much time there. The question is: does it get better with practice? or I shouldn't bother because that position isn't optimal for me.

Cadence: I spin most 90-100 a lot of times but like you, my cadence drops to 70-80 when out of the saddle. This is mostly due to me shifting up.
According to the guy that did the fit on my bike, there is such a thing as too much of a drop that one loses power. That may be what you are experiencing right now. Is your stem slammed? Maybe you can raise it a tad.

Standing cadence is always lower than seated, it's like you need more "support"/resistance when standing on the pedals.
