Chris King Headset

I'm going to purchase a new headset, (threaded) and I was just wondering if the CK headsets are all they are said to be (5.0 on www.roadbikereview.com)

I was also considering the Campy Chorus or Record headset, would it be on par with the quality of a CK?

Also if anyone has any suggestions on a threaded stem, it would be appreciated :)

Yes. Yes. Yes. Chris King headsets and really all of their components are top notch. They will outlive you. They make replacement parts for even the components they manufactured decades ago and everything new has a great warrany though I would be surprised if you ever used it. Also, a threaded King can be converted to a threadless down the road if your bike asks for one. All you need is a conversion kit (cheaper than a new headset). As for the other choices they are ok but if you are going to spend the buck, get a King. Threaded stems are fewer and fewer these days but profile still puts out about any length/angle combination you could want.

The Campy stuff does not even come close. If a CK is too expensive, consider a Stronnglight.

Considering that a CK will keep on living after another headseat would have died three times -- the price is really not that bad. I have one on one of my bikes, and I though it went loose once (which happens all the time with most other brands) but then I realised that it wasn't the HS that was loose, but my front break bolt. You cant go wrong with a CK.
