Least expensive Shimano 10 speed complete bike

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you get flamed for anything, it should be for not giving a more specific link...

(I was going to post one... but couldn't find any <$1000 10spd full bikes.)

Anyways, I've not seen any 10spd < $1000 bikes out there. If the 1300 is the going rate from LBSs in your area, you might have to wait until next years lineup comes out, then this year's prices would go down, as with cars.

of course, there's the always risky ebay or craigslist. Caveat emptor.

I think Flyte has an SRS-3 special with 10-speed 105 for $1099. Solid bike, but it isn't QUITE <$1000. Still worth a look-- www.flyte1.com.

This is close, at $1095. If you're actually interested in buying from BD, do a search on 'Motobecane'; we've thrashed it to death on this forum.

slightly off topic, but why would you necessarily need 10 speed for a lunch rider?
