QS2 ride report

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

QS2 ride report

Okay.................I have taken the Q out on several different rides from flats to very steep hills to a 16 mile constant hill! My thoughts and more importantly other rider's thoughts:

-First and foremost I did get that annoying click noise to go away. I really think it was the crank arms were not tightened down enough.

-Much lighter and crosswinds can surprise you.

-The climbing ability of this bike is unreal with the setup I have. I think I just lucked out and got it right. The girls that use to whip my a$$ up hills and flats. Well I lead the pack alot now. I really think I picked the right gearing.

-Frame has no visible stress at the weak points.........gotta remember, I was skeptical of this new confoundit carbon stuff. The finish on the Q is great too.

-The bike according to other riders is that it is the best draft bike they have seen. On flats I don't have to pedal but every so often if drafting, I just tuck in and ride up on their wheel while they pedal like a jack rabbit on a date. This was the most astounding thing said by other riders.

-Lastly.................I built the damn thing myself and am very proud like a father!

Good for you, Jim. I was pretty impressed with my QS2. It is a top tier frame for a bottom tier price - a true value indeed.

I just went from a 11x23 to a 12x27.

I could still use some more umpph on the hills so I'm going to get a compact. How's the 34? I'm planning on going with a 36 so its an easier transition.

It really made a difference. Didn't lose too much on my flats or downhill as well. The 34 really keeps the hills manageable and allows me to climb without as much effort as I thought I would need.
