Double OCP Points???
I took my Pinny F4:13 full Record kit, Eurus wheels out for my usual 30 mile loop and I left later than usual and it was HOT!! So I ran out of water about hal way through and stopped at Arbor Hills mountain bike area (for those of you in DFW) to fill my water bottles. As I was standing at the fountain three MTB'ers came up the rise talking about the lastest, greatest XTR bike and as they saw the Pinny they all stopped talking at the same time. Kinda like when you were 14 and a bad ace Corvette went by and then one of them said "That is one sweet a$$ ride right there."
I smirked that inner OCP smirk, and rode off into the sunset. Quite the giggle. But I do admit it made me feel pretty cool!! Maybe the points should be triple, there was three of them!

You shouldn't have smirked, that's a point loss there.
I met a guy on my commute as we stopped for the traffic light, he was riding a blue Orbea, full team kit to the teeth. I said "Nice bike you got there!" He turned his head to me, didn't even flinch, then he dialed 400 watts and dropped me.
That's triple point right there.

Just think of the comments you would have gotten with a Paris Carbon team colors, or Dogma FP!

the use of the knickname 'Pinny' negates all 'ocp' points.
it's Pinarello
it's Pinarello

I've had a similar experience, but only once.
My wife and I sometimes do a Monday evening ride that includes a group of riders who, because we are old and slow, generally ignore us. After we acquired our new Santana Noventa tandem, complete with a hydraulic rear disc brake and shadeshifter paint, I drove up to the Monday night ride with our spiffy new tandem on the roof rack. When I opened the car door, I noticed probably 10 of the fast guys standing in a semi-circle and looking up at our bike. Nobody said a single word, they just drifted off.
It was funny.

How about this: a coworker who makes way more money than I do asks where she can get her mtb. repaired. I naturally refer her to my LBS. Then she says it's a Murray!! Holy Cow, the guys at the shop will kill me. But the next day I have a great excuse(as though I need one) to go to the LBS and I give them the head's up that she's on her way. Who knows? They might not be able to salvage the Murray and end up selling her a Gary Fisher. Or maybe she'll see the new Lemond Renos they had on the floor and lighten the wallet a bit. I hope so. What the heck is the point of getting a PhD. if you're going to ride an x-mart bike?

I have had moments like that going down Interstate shoulders in my trike. Every few hundred miles some motorist would pull over, stop, and take my picture. Once even a guy with an 18-wheeler stopped to gawk near Taft, CA on the I-5. When he saw my level of heat stress he gave me and the trike a lift up to the south Bay area.

Ken, I've only seen one bicyclist on the I-5 in the many times I travelled it. Had I had a camera, I might have taken a picture too. I know what the cross wind from a semi truck at 65 mph feels like, but I can hardly imagine having that happen once every 2 or 3 seconds for my entire ride!

"pinny" is a Fred's term of endearment for the bikes once made in Treviso.
Here are some Pinarello pics

I think perhaps they thought someone slipped some bad acid into their waterbottles. I mean......look at those forks.
