Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Old Shorts?

I have worn out a pair of shorts, I was wondering before I throw them out if anyone has found a use for them after they are no longer suitable for wear? I know this sounds kind of silly but I just thought I would check, thanks!

Keep them around to patch other shorts/bibs that sustain crash damage.

A bit too personal for Goodwill. Kinda like underwear.

I've been in the sport for a long time. Haven't seen anything clever enough to mention.
In fact, haven't seen ANY adaptive re-use for shorts.
Maybe sew the legs shut and make a laundry bag out of them?

In a related note, I've seen riders wear their shorts far past the expiration date.

You mean when they start looking more like a window screen instead of a piece of clothing??

On another note I was in a Performance store last weekend and heard the sales lady behind the counter tell a customer that he could return the shorts after wearing them as long as they were washed. Up to even a month down the line....

Use them as underware. Just wear a pair of gym shorts over them.
