quick opinion needed on a bike

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This one is pretty well outdated and it only weighs "next to nothing" is 25lb is nothing. Looks like a $50 garage sale bike to me.

I noodled around the net a bit and found that the Elance falls in the vintage bike area. Given its age I would only consider buying it if I could ride it first, at any price. One site suggested that buyers of vintage Treks do an E-bay search for similiar old Treks closing prices. If the bike were in mint or near-mint condition $150 would seem to be a very good price.

hey, thanks for the input guys. i was able to get more information from the seller. based on some additional pics and info i gathered from the vintaege-treks website, it looks to be an '87 400 Elance. according to the seller, there are some scratches in the paint and there is a broken spoke, but he still rides it daily. he is asking for $150. what is a reasonable amount that i should offer him?
