Other Sports Equivalent to the "Clipless Tip-Over"

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Missing an easy grounder because it went under your glove.

Coming into the pit in a race and stopping one pit space past your own.

All I could hear was the gut wrenching sound of my bag flying off the cart and holding up the entire train. Quite a few people had a chuckle and some others were concerned, but I felt like I had just tipped over while stopped at a light. In the end - no damage and I ended up playing fairly well.

Tisk, tisk, tisk - you ALWAYS check the cart strap before you drive away...those cart guys have too much to do to get it right. On the other hand is there any chance someone loosened it? I have seen this done at these events as a joke....not all that funny when a driver costs $400+ but drunk fools get a laugh out of it.

Tennis? Try drilling your doubles partner in the back with an errant serve. Happened to me once (i.e., I was the one who got hit). He was a pretty decent player, but every now and then one gets away from you.

Trying to step into your XC ski bindings and having one ski slide away. That's funny.

Actually stepping on your own pole is pretty bad too. Did that once in a race, course was flat, somehow my pole landed in between my skis.

Racketball would be when you can't stop and slam into the wall... that really sucks.

Tennis would be the "Big Whiffer" when you have an easy shot lined up and just whif on the swing... that's REALLY embarrasing... or when you swing and the ball gets stuck in the triangle of the racket... that one is embarrasing too!

Motorcycle Riding: Killing the bike when you go to take off because you left the kick-stand down... as soon as you shift into 1st it will die.

Cars: having an accident with another one of your own cars.

probably already posted: bumping head on pool wall when doing flip turn swimming laps....

or better: starting flip turn too soon and not finding pool wall with legs...

Tripped over the the 3 yard line when I was all alone after a catch. Also got "rim jammed" trying to dunk during an away game.

In pool (billiards), missing a straight in 8 ball or 9 ball shot. Either that or missing a ball in hand shot. Or the biggest oopsie is when you accidentally shoot in your oponents ball thinking it's your own. Last but not least, shooting the eight ball when you still have one more ball on the table that you didn't notice.

I once saw a fencer line up for a dry saber bout fully wired up with his foil in hand. We were 15 and relentless with our torture.

Dry Saber Bout - sounds like a good name for a band. Or their latest CD.

Volleyball: setting the third hit instead of putting it over the net.

XC skiing: Skiiing away from the lodge THINKING that the binding grabbed the boot.

Tennis: hitting it over the fence.

I thought in tennis it was when you went for your serve and completely missed the ball. Not that I've ever done that...

SCUBA-- going overboard with air not turned on and BCD or Wings not inflated. (Hasn't happened to me yet)

Ski Racing-- Crashing after the finish. (Happened to me at a race in HS against this Leipheimer guy who does some biking now.)

Car Racing-- First turn and you find out the lugs didn't get tightened down. (Saw this happen once)

Bowling-- Throwing the ball the wrong way accidentally.

Photogarphy-- Lens cap on. (I know, not a sport)

I fenced for almost 30 years. Split my pants once on a balestra/lunge, but never on the engarde.

At a tournament I saw a sabereur do a fleche once and run straight into the strip judge.
And you can be sure he was piste.

or when your pull release is either too soon or too late and you send it flying 40 yards out of bounds....... thats why i dont pull anymore!

i saw this basketball video of a guy who lost his balance while standing outside the lane as someone took a free-throw shot. you cant enter the lane until the ball hits the rim, but he began leaning forward too soon and started waving his arms frantically in circles trying to stay up until the shot was taken.....alas.....to no avail.
