Armstrong getting passed in TT by Indurain

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh no.... I hope you don't get hollered at for putting such a trollish thread out here... IIRC, a certain someone got the pie recipe treatment from some of the forum's 'elder statesmen' for posting this exact video!

BTW, I like it when folks find this stuff on youtube. Thanks!

I'll bet Indurtrain would have passed you, too.

What's your point?

It's hard to TT when the growth hormone has made your forehead as wide as a truck.

Lance was not a good TT early on. Remember how the Mexican racer who rode for WordPerfect just stomped him on the Tour Du Pont? He got much better.

Ah hah! I've always wondered, so now I know. That must explain Malcolm Elliot's forehead! Thanks.

But Indurain still would have beaten him. Willet or somebody did some calculations on LA's rumored hour record attempt a couple years ago and concluded he had no chance.

Yep. CyLowe97 posted the link to the thread where 55/rad posted a multitude of pie recipes. Still have no clue what that was about???

As I said in the earlier thread, tour riders tend to peak between age 25 and 30...Indurain was in his prime and Lance was still a punk kid.

Sure, and I've got big feet. Just because it's true for me doesn't make it true for all. Humans for millenia have been trying to assign various traits by measuring various physical features.

He was a good TT rider when Mom stepped out of the delivery room.

I liked seeing this video for a couple of reasons:
It's retro.
It's good to be reminded that there once were monsters bigger than Lance.

If we wanted to, we could also find videos of Indurain getting schooled by Lemond and others.
