what happened to the OCP?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cheers,

some of us are lurking, some of us are off in Italy, picking up odds and ends for the Fall season, some of us realized carrying the computer to Starbucks didn't quite match the posing.

But damn, I looked good on my commute this morning. 'nuf said.

The spirit lives on quite well but honestly, you either get/have it or you don't. I got tired of trying to explain and defend it to the noobs who assumed they knew everything. Even in this thread, there are examples of the unknowing....

Hint - we ride. Probably more than you do.

Since I coined the original acronym, I'm gonna throw out an alternative.

OCP - Obsessively Cynical Psyclist.

Do you actually wear jerseys? Why don't you just wear wicking tops from Xmart?

We need to come up with a good design for an OCP jersey. I'd buy one!

Unfortunately, you can't argue mileage or "commitment" with a bike messenger. I can say this....I think riding all day to support myself and my family would cease to be fun or interesting. Unless I was on the pro circuit.... and even then...

there has recently been a scandal uncovered in the junior ranks. it seems that some of us are merely regular citizens posing as OCP.

the OCP don't ride? don't make me bust the stickers out again...

cuz i will.

It has its moments, hard not to like doing something you love and getting paid for it though.

It gets better, not only am I riding for work, but now Ive got after dinner riding to do to prepare for a race coming up, so until that happens im looking at about 7-9hrs of saddle time per day for the next month. So, until one of you OCP peeps actually steps up and shows some committment to actual riding, my attitude will stay the same, you brought it on yourselves. Also, ya 55Rad, there is a serious lack of OCP in just about every mileage or ride thread, look it up yourself. It is what it is dude, I didnt start OCP, but it sure is hilarious
