Riding Across States- show me your links

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Riding Across States- show me your links

I recently rode across Indiana for the 2nd year in a row and as I was searching for upcoming rides on BikeJournal.com (which you should join if you haven't already, BTW) I noticed the ODRAM, or One-Day-Ride-Across-Michigan. It's 152 miles and goes down on September 9th. Here's the website: http://www.lmb.org/pages/Events/Shor...ages/ODRAM.htm

I like the idea of adding more states to my resume and I'm curious-- How many states have an organized ride across them? Post links and any personal experience you may have.

Indiana: RAIN- http://www.bloomington.in.us/~bbc/to.../rain.html#top

Michigan: ODRAM- http://www.lmb.org/pages/Events/Shor...ages/ODRAM.htm

The ultimate list is buried within the Cyclists Yellow Pages, put out by Adventure Cycling. You can (apparently) browse it on-line: http://www.adventurecycling.org/cyp/index.cfm

Here is another one, http://www.bikebama.com/ , it has taken different routes different years. I haven't had the chance to do it yet, due to having been in the Air Force, but am moving back to Birmingham, AL next weekend and hope to get invovled with it soon. From the things I have read it seems like a good ride.
