I took steroids for my rash.
Seriously, I even asked the doc, I said "Like the ones that athletes use?"
He rolled his eyes and said "Yes, like the ones that athletes use."

Oh boy... I was acused of doping by USCF. Most of you know I am genetically male or female (XXY) but my parents wanted a boy so ... well when I was racing I tried testosterone again - with a TUE, that did not work, psychology or physically! - My T levels we a little over a genetic male for a little while anyway!
Doping is stupid - if you can not do it legal _ GO HOME!

Every day. Coffee w/ sugar, which is why you'll never see me in the Tour. Anybody know how to screen positives for caffeine?

OK, I'll take the question seriously: I took a single cycle of 'stacked' (two different types) of anabolic steroids about 10 years ago during a manic bodybuilding phase in my life. I began to get puffy, bloated, and unhealthy looking, irritable, and eventually after 6 weeks of an 8 week cycle I stopped, angry at myself for f'ing with 2 years of really intense training (which had had really good results anyway, I was big as a house).

Read this a few years ago in Outside Mag. Interesting article on doping.

Actually, EPO isn't harmless at all if it is administered and the athletes blood level is monitored regularly. EPO is as safe as orange juice. That's the theory of Dr. Ferrari, the man who helped Lance Armstrong win so many times in the Tour de France.

Well what is the definition? This past spring at a VB tourney I was struggling near the end of the day and someone gave me a Red Bull, never had one before and I gave it a shot. Well for sure it enhanced my performance for the next game but after that I was even worse...I am guessing that doesn't count but I sure as hell wasn't going to play as well as I did in that game without it.
Haven't touched the stuff since either...that crap really got me going in ways that probably aren't too good for you.

When I was a teen I used to work in a health food/suppliment store. We used to see who could do the most stimulants and maintain control. Made for some great rides. Never been exposed to any of the substances that are considered "doping".

I dabbled in the andro as well, before they took it away. It made a difference in recovery for me. I could ride very hard one day, and could ride hard the next day again, without feeling as tired in the legs.

I rode 20 km once after getting stoned. It felt like a 5 hour ride, but only took an hour.
Oh, you mean dope in a different context..

My secret to performance is chocolate ice cream.
It's probably why I'm so slow.
