Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need new wheels

I got my Fuji Newest about 3 months ago and have probably 800 miles on it(ive been gone for 4 weeks ). The wheels on it are something like alex AKX-R1.0. I have had to get them trued-up 4 times. Im just wondering if anybody has some advice on a good set of wheels for under 300.00(as i am 16 and only make so much money in a grocery store). I not going to be racing on them but putting alot of miles on them. The roads around here arent to great so they need to be sturdy.

thanks, Ben

Check Nashbar. I just bought a set of Cane Creek Strados wheels for 249.00(on sale).
You might also consider a set of Mavic Open Pros with Ultegra hubs(Performance or Nashbar)

The Cane Creeks and the Open Pro's are both good recommendations.

i just ordered a set of these - seemed to be a great buy at 260.00 msrp of 499.00 and they weigh as much as any other 600 dollar set of wheels

although i went with them because of there weight 1510grams - you might want something a bit beefier
