How am I SUPPOSED to sit on the seat?

Seems on my rides my butt has been getting sore, actually right between my butt and my nuts. Im sure you guys are well aware fo where I speak. It seems I'm sliding down the seat some while I ride. Should I try a different seat, different shorts ? or just try to pitch my seat up some?

Thanks
Dave

i try adjusting the tilt a tiny bit. start with it dead level, then tilt the nose up a millimeter at time till you find the right spot.

Try pitching up just a bit. If that doesn't work try another saddle. My personal favorite is the Brooks B-17. I got it a few months ago. I wish I had gotten it years ago. It's awesome.

First, your shorts should have a chamois that covers the vulnerable spots. That means, the chamois should extend past the areas you make contact with on the saddle. The chamois must not bunch up.

Second, if you don't use it, you may want to consider a chamois creme. I use cheap bib shorts, so chamois creme is a must for me.

If you already have a case of saddle sores, then use some type of diaper rash creme between rides.

I have a padded set of fhorst but I saw a nicer set at perforamnce cycle that look like they will work nice. Iw ill buy these and try them. The one I was looking at is not the chamois type but it looks like a gel type padding almost? I will check their website to see If I can find which ones they were. They were on sale for 29.99. THis brings me back to my question, where should my butt be exactly? I don't exactly even know where it belongs, but I do know that if i move my nuts out of the way while im trying to sit it'll help some (sorry for the language but its easier) but I end up moving forward again.
I have no saddle sore as the pain goes away after I get off the bike. In fact if i stop for 30 seconds it'll be gone for 3 or 4 minutes before it comes back. For some dumb reason I pitchd my seat down today on my ride to see if that would put less pressure on my "middle area" but it really didn't.

So how much is the seat recommended? Does it have a cutout or just a deep dish for the sensitive areas? Id hate to buy an expensive seat to just find out it doesnt help. But if it does, its worth about any price..

To clearify some, i don't have a friction pain, but a pressure pain.

take this with a grain of salt from a 6mo rider, but if your seat is just too high you will get pressure (I only know this because during my fitting the seat was raised to high and wow that hurts!!)

I've been sold on having a good saddle means it fits your sitbones properly (however you measure them I don't know) anyway I'm having good luck with the specialized avatar (comes in 3 sizes) and I like the channel on it.

u have to click on USA and then you will get to the link.

My seat height is perfect (I thjnk) for my pedal stroke and I dont wanna mess w/ that any but I will reevaluate it some.
