Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Build dilema

Bought a Look 555 in pink for my wife and can't decide whether to put black rims on (Campanolo Zondas) or silver rims (Krysiums SL2) any thoughts as to which would look better ?

Thanks

Not usually a fan of the black rims, but on that frame, got to go with Ostuni on this one. Black.

I would do the Zonda'a over the Krysium's but if color were the only criterion, I would do the same as the handlebar/stem/seatpost/other components.

I think black would look good...I have a lime green caad 3 that I'm building for my GF and want to put some black wheels as well but then again, it all depends on what I find at a good price...

Ask your wife or you may be in trouble.

Now having said that I like silver, paticuarly with a light coloured frame as it will make the bike look visualy lighter. Match with silver seatpost, cranks, handlebars, ect.

All black would work too but in my view it will look heavier and maybe a little menacing.

Regards, Anthony

Will she be riding alone? I have the Zondas on two bikes, Mavics on another. I can change the Mavics without touching a tire lever. The first time I changed out the Zondas, it took forever, and I could barely get the tires back on. It gets easier as the tires get used.
However, the Zondas just look great!
