Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's not pro, not cool and quite dumb. Bicycling is a great sport, great way to stay in shape and I find it very fun to be competitive.
On the other hand, cars serve a good purpose as well. Tell your wife to pedal you to the emergency room that is 20 miles away instead of driving a car. How about biking to work in a suit when it is 100 degrees out. Uppity bicyclists are the worst.

I thought I was the only cyclist who felt this way. In the defense of the uppity cyclists, cars are abused. So much in fact that many people can't even walk anymore. Count the amount of people in a Wal Mart with one of those electric wheelchairs.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. I am VERY pro car and into modifying my car for greater performance, but I also recognize that in many circumstances I can travel just as easily by bicycle and it is cheaper and better in many ways than driving. This shirt doesn't knock cars at all, it just points out that a bicycle is an efficient way to get around. In fact, I might order one.

It's just a T-Shirt. I don't think it's cool personally, but nothing offensive about it, and certainly nothing to get you this riled up about it. Again, it's just a T-Shirt.

"Pro-cycling" as in for cycling, not "professional cycling".

well...

there's something to be said for not running on hydrocarbons that, when not unavailable, are politicaly deadly.
Polite comments aside, I am against cars, but that shirt isn't. Someone's being overly defensive...

bit too critical mass for me.

while i'm in no rush to pollute the planet, misguided idealism does not motivate me to ride my bike.

You young punk!! How dare you say something like that to a woman and disrespect not only HER but this entire forum. Just because your mother lets you talk to her like that doesn't mean its ok to talk to all women like that. BECAUSE IT ISN'T!!

I'm not sure what it is about this and other threads that seem to bring out the people with a stick up their butt.

The shirt isn't disparaging drivers, so I don't put it anywhere close to the "uppity" category.

I hate green. Besides that I could care less.
I can think of a few better issues to scream about.

Darn, got here too late. Someone PM me with the part that was mod edited. Not crazy about the shirt but
initial response was a little hostile. I really do admire the people that are riding to work in Chicago when it is 10 degrees outside in the middle of winter.
