Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

OOP's I did it agian

I went out and bought myself another bike. Almost one year ago I bought an Orbea Orca. I brought it home on July 28th. Then around last thanksgiving I bought a 03 Orbea Leige and built it with Ultegra 9. Over the winter I slowly aquired all the parts to make it Ultegra 10speed. I thought I was happy. Then this spring they started to blow out Look 555's on ebay. I took the bait and bought one and sold the Leige frame on ebay to partially offset the cost. So right now I have a Look 555 and an Orca sitting on the porch and an 06 Red Orbea Opal is on the way from Orbea to my bike shop as we speek.
WTF is my problem. I think I keep upgrading cuase of this and other bike forums. I look at other peoples bikes and I feel the need to upgrade. Have any of you guys done this???? Is this a disease. My wife is ok with it since I do ride quite a bit (on track for 5000 miles this year) and this is my only real hobbie. What gives..

I've been riding the same Lemond for nearly eight years (well, with many upgrades and replacements). I wish I had 1) your illness and 2) your disposable income.

(My brother just got an Euskatel-painted Orca, <drool>)

Hey if I had the money I'd do the same thing. It can't be a disease if we all do it. Or aspire to do it.
